The Vindicators outfit started before beta even started in December 2002 when the majority of people waiting for the game wanted to be elite cloaking sniper outfits. DviddLeff (aka Vindicore) founded the outfit and set teamwork as our prime aim, with all play styles encouraged within our ranks. We succeeded in this coming in the top five outfits of beta and staying within the top ten outfits when the game went live, fighting on the Emerald server for the Vanu Sovereignty.
We prided ourselves on our joint operations between infantry, aircraft, armour and recon teams running at least a squad at almost all times of the day. We excelled in both armour columns and Galaxy drops, regularly changing the tide of battle with both. On one occasion we defended a single base for 5 hours straight against both the NC and TR, and on another we captured a base that had been stalemated for 3 days in just 45 minutes. We were the majority member of the Vanu Round Table alliance and regularly took part in large raids with three platoons.
The Vindicators stuck with the original game until a few months after the Outfit Wars during which we came joint second, wining 3, earning ties against 1CMM and KotoR and had the sixth match struck from the record due to GM failings.
In the years since the outfit wars we have waited impatiently for a replacement for Planetside, but with news of the sequel we are gearing up to get back into the action. DviddLeff has put together a tactics website that we will use and refine as we start playing, aiming to have dedicated divisions within our ranks for infantry, armour, aircraft and reconnaissance squads.
