While we don't know much about gameplay, you can probably guess a lot of the same aspects and concepts will remain in play. Me and my outfit back in the day were avid Prowler drivers, though of course we had to take some infantry certs to make base battles interesting.
So what do you guys wanna do in the new game? Spec ops? Armor? Air? Support? |

well, being outfit leader myself and not trusting anyone - I took Ground/Air Support myself to get the team where I wanted them to be. On the offensive side I also had Assault Buggy. Our enforcer squad was the best. Gonna go the same way, if it's somewhat compareable in PS2.

My Vindicators always tended towards armour columns or gal drops.
However at our peak when we could boast 30 players simultaneously we ran dedicated armour, air and infantry squads all of which were coordinated by a commander. That is what I want us to manage in PS2 on a nightly basis, with a fourth squad for the platoon made up of a recon and command players. With the added flexibility of the new cert system it should mean that everyone can quickly be effective at any role, so if we need 15 tanks or a massed air assault we can shift the focus of the platoon to suit the situation. |

Still a shame they feel the need to spoil the fps genre with that rpg/unlocking crap nonsense. Last edited by CutterJohn; 2011-09-07 at 06:51 PM. |

They aren't spoiling anything, much less the genre. It's more content and deeper specialization. Get over it or go elsewhere. Damn. This is why they don't give us info anymore. |

Since when did character advancement and development become a bad thing? So long as the advancement doesn't give you any god-awful advantages over newbies I don't see any real downsides to making it an integral part of PS2. Quite the opposite, actually. More on topic, I love the wide variety of different roles that are available in PS1, so in PS2 I plan on doing all sorts of things, and will most likely work on developing several different classes rather than concentrating on one or two since I generally prefer being a jack-of-all-trades over a specialist. I do plan on spending lots of time as a rifleman, engie/medic, Lightning driver (if it's in PS2, AND IT BLOODY WELL BETTER BE TOO! U LISTENING, HIGBY?!?!? ), and probably Air Cav pilot though. DARK has always performed frequent resecures for the Sovereignty on a daily basis so I know I'll be heavily involved in quick response as well. Nothing gives me more satisfactiion than foiling the enemy's plans so I know I'll spend lots of time moving around watching the Vanu's six and putting out fires... |
