Have PS1 populations increased lately?

I keep thinking about re-subbing for the 4th or 5th time but the populations are always disappointing.

Any chance that all the new PS2 hype has brought a lot of people back into the game?

It might be fun to play PS1 until the PS2 beta starts... maybe.

Unfortunately not.

Depending on what you mean by increased .. empire population can go up to 65-70 but is often lower.

I, too, saw a couple of red alerts this weekend. Also got to the point on Cyssor where NC ad 31 slots open (maybe less, but that's what it was when I noticed). Some of the fights have been pretty epic. The only problem is that there's only enough people for one major battle at a time (two if they are on the same continent) so you can't really choose where you fight. We did have some really nice bridge battles this weekend with multiple tanks, several aircraft and snipers involved.

If you like Amerish, Cyssor and Hossin, you'll have a good time

I suppose with ps2 coming out it might be a good idea to experiment with subscriptions and lower it to $5 a month. I know i could get my outfit to start playing again for that- until PS2 beta.

That's 'cos the last patch (3 years ago was it?) the continental limits were brought down to 120/empire (or thereabout) so there was only 80-90 people playing TR. That's... not acceptable by my standards.

This.

It would give the new people that have never played the game to get a understanding, feel and experience what PS 1 is, as well about. I don't want the new players to base the new game (PS 2) off it cause of the graphics. You got to take consideration that PS 1 came out 10 years ago and that was thing back then! It is more of the game mechanics how it is played and how it should be played. Plus it would hype PS 2 even more. Iam itching to play so bad!!! HELP HELP!!!

Just re-subbed for a month

Dust off the old uniforms and get in to give the old addiction a send off!

I agree. 16$ a month for an obsolete game. I just wanted to check it out to get the better understanding of what this game was about. This game should be f2p in the eve of PS2 release but there isn't even a free trial atm, facepalm SOE. A big one.

I really wish this game would go f2p as well, or at least dropped to a drastically reduced cost. I'll still gladly keep paying $15 a month until PS2 comes out, but if they lowered the cost I think it would get more veterans and new players into the game.

To answer the OP's question, I find it depends what time of the day you log into the game. 5pm to 12pm cst seems to be the sweet spot (at least that I've found).

that's about 60 or so per faction, I've seen it a little lower, but mostly this week has been everyone on the same continent. Weekends are a little better, reaching about 250 or so.

Well... pops just went up by one at least. I re subbed in anticipation of having some free time this summer when not interning.

I know it's a ghost town but fuck it, Ascend ain't doin it for me, and beta is taking too long.
