Woah woah woah. EVE has no scale?

I keep teetering on the edge of dust 514/PS2.. Either way dust is PS3 exclusive, SONY own it and well PS2 is SOE, SONY own it

Yes scale, now you may be fighting in the same universe as the Eve players you are however limited to 64 players in Dust 514. You do not have the option of joining the eve players in space combat unless you have a separate account that you are paying for on the pc. If I wanted to play a fps with 64 players I would go play BF3.

Planetside 2 your fighting against almost 2000 players per continent. Massive battles with armor and air rolling. If you where around during prime in 03 to 05 like I was then you know what I mean.

Planetside 2 takes this one hands down. Dust 514 doesn't even stand a chance.

i dont have a ps3 (or any console) and i have no plans to get one - ever
also as was said just before, its only 64 player and probably small maps so it main competition is games like battlefield imo

I commented, even though I didn't really watch the video (I don't really have time as I'm at work, and I can't turn the sound on either).

Have you posted the link to your video on Dust and other gaming forums?

It'd be interesting to have more opinions than just ours (because no one here will say Dust is better anyway).

I'm mostly curious to know the opinion of people who are not PS2 or Dust514 followers.

EVE Online has a scale beyond any other game in existence. Far beyond PS1 or what PS2 is going to have.

Dust 514 from what I've seen has none of that scale, and only ties into EVE in a few fashions.

Everything is up in the air, but unless Dust intends to have a 1000 players shooting at one another at the same time on a map, then PS2 will have more scale.

game play wise, planetside seems more polished in alpha then dust 514. +1 for planetside.

PC>Consoles in that case. PCs can have no restrictions on the software, while consoles can handle only the certain amount of stress. It's the fact that you simply cannot "upgrade" consoles in the full meaning of the word.

There is no comparison with PlanetSide.

EVE is a massive world no question but DUST514 is not.

I don't understand the purpose of even comparing the two. The only similarities they share is they are sci-fi shooters.

Comparing a console game to a PC game is like comparing a Hyundai to a Lexus.

My error! And I don't think EVE competes against Planetside, because the games are too different from each other.

Yes if we were comparing EVE to PS2... but that's not the question...
We're comparing Dust 514 and Planetside 2.
Planetside 2 wins hands down imo. Scale is bigger and it's run on the PC, which is upgradable.
