This reminds me...were there any remote control deployable turrets in PS1 like they had way back in Tribes? In Tribes, there were all kinds of turrents: Big permanent turrets on the outer walls of a base that were remote controlled from deep within a base, and deployable autoturrets but there were also deployable turrets that you fired by remote. Remote controlled deployables might have been a mod, actually, it's been 10 years since I played Tribes so it's hard to remember...

Could really use a bullet shield, I refuse to believe that any future military wouldn't put bullet shields on standing turrets like that.
Something akin to HMMWV bullet shields or just anywhere you see a mounted 50cal. You don't need to cover the legs up, just please, a bullet guard, I feel like it looks horrible otherwise. These are supposed to be professional militaries... This is more akin to something you'd see on a technical, regardless of it being standalone. I really don't believe any military would just mount a gun like that, only insurgencies. |

Love the look, although I do agree there should be some sort of bullet shield on it. Even a small one would be great.

Was not expecting the deployable turrets to look anything like this. My initial reaction was good. I think it looks fantastic and I can picture how cool it will be in game. However, I agree with some who have posted before me. Seeing this makes me concerned about the effectiveness of the turret. If a sniper or any soldier can kill the person using the turret just by shooting them or taking a head shot then this is not an appealing design. I was hoping when you were using a turret it would be like a stationary vehicle. By this I mean your survivability is based on the turrets armor and health values not your own.
Put simply. Love it as art. Skeptical of it in function. |
