Vehicle Loadout Change at Rearming Stations

As currently in Planetside 2, vehicles are modifiable with various weapon subsets that can be chosen to give them a specific edge.

HOWEVER, vehicles costs resources and cannot be recycled for a return. So here is the question that must be asked.

What happens when your anti air Reaver, Mosquito, or Scythe takes out the last enemy aircraft?

You are forced to ditch or crash a perfectly good vehicle, all because the loadout has exceeded its purpose.

The SOLUTION!

Allow vehicle to enter a loadout screen and change their weaponry and mods in order for it to be rearmed for a new situation.

This is a very simple, but very necessary suggestion. Defeat a greater threat and rearm to be better suited for a new worse threat, granted that you survive your return to base and a rearm pad/station. Replace missiles with bombs, rockets with flask, cannons with chain guns. Address the new situation at hand with what you have, not be forced to jettison a good craft for one that merely suits a different objective.

I haven't seen or heard of this, but it seems so obvious that I would think it would be in the game already. Seeing as I haven't seen it though, suggesting this seems to be rather important to ensure it gets in.

Re-arm stations for vehicles are confirmed (the parts of the base with big holographic bullet signs over them). I'm sure vehicle loadout changes will work exactly the same way as infantry loadout changes. You set up your loadout at any time (on the fly if you like), go to the appropriate terminal, select the loadout, and hit "resupply".

Nothing to worry about here, I promise.

Yes, but there is concern due to it being a bit trickier than with infantry loadout. Vehicles are external weapon systems, and there are questions, such as, should changing weapons cost resources?

Infantry don't cost resources, only things like grenades, which would mostly just reload at a resource cost. The complete re-arming of a vehicle could be something overlooked due to it's extra complexity. Though we don't know till we start getting into beta. Which I can't wait to get a good look at.

I wouldn't mind paying a small amount to change the weapons mounted on a vehicle, so long as it's cheaper than reordering the entire vehicle. I guess to actually make the weapons changeable, you'd have to cert into the vehicle first.

The vehicle costs resources to spawn, the weapons do not cost resources to equip. I'm 99% sure you won't have to worry about this. And that 1% possibility will only be if the Devs think you need to pick a loadout and stick with it for some balance reason. In either case, the Devs already know that people will want to sometimes change their weapon loadout and have already made the decision as to whether they will be able to or not.

I was getting the impression that some of the more specialized weapons on a vehicle (like AA or AT) were going to be coming from cert point placements. Wouldn't a major weapon change also require you to reset your cert points to shift them around - which if allowed may have some frequency limits. Maybe if you got an even spread of your points or maxed out all certs on the vehicle it would be more likely to allow weapon changes.
