I remember back in Beta, Night Fighting WAS at night, not at dawn/dusk. Right now because of improper "Night Fighting," night vision is useless. It's just a waste of certs currently. They need to bring it back! It was a major part of the game and is now lost. (And for all you n00bs out there, Night Fighting wasn't completely pitch-black dark. You could still see, just not as well as seeing with night vision or thermal vision) Any ideas on what to do to convice the devs to bring it back? Also, give me your ideas on bringing it back. Do you think they should or no?

yea I'm not really digging the blue tint ether got the night vision for my rifle and there is no point going through the hassle to equip it. i can understand how bright it is in bases but among the trees and hills people stand out way too easy.
I suppose it also has to do with which continent your on. In the deserts of north Indar I get it but I would think Amerish would be darker considering the mountains and climate. I thought night vision was supposed to give you a unique edge over your enemy but no you can do without it fine. |

gotta disagree with you there I see them clear as day If everyone used a good cammo it would be but right now its just a big black splodge against blue
or give a completely new aspect to play with think of all the other things that they could have put in as certs, flares, spotlights on ESF or Lib, you'd have to think about how visible you would be with tracers, the mentioned night vision, lights on vehicles would actually be useful, the flashlight cert would also be useful as opposed to giving the enemy a bit target . the list could go on but you get the idea. it would add a lot to the game and you could make the argument that a new player wouldn't be equipped for it so its unfair and annoying (there also not equipped for dogfights) but this doesn't mean that bases are pitch black there are a tone of lights there just the surrounding countryside and big fights are going to light up no matter what. you could also bring in a mechanic of light adjustment if you in a base firefight you eyes will adjust to the light and looking out will be darker than say a pitch battle. (sorry for the bad wording at this point its getting kind of hard to get round the dyslexia ) look I just think this would add more than inhibit. |

night fighting is awesome. now its just lame.
fighting in pitch black darkness is intense, the devs need to bring it back on at least one continent. id love a continent where the brightest is what we have for night right now, and the darkest is pitch black. Last edited by moosepoop; 2012-12-20 at 12:59 PM. |

yeah darker nights would be wicked fun! The enviroments in the game are done so well, a shame to just dull it down with a "almost" dark night.
Some of those sunrise moments I have had in game after a long base battle...man it just looks epic! It'd be more rewarding after a dark dark night hah. Oooh weather would be the icing on the cake! |

Most players loved night battles in Beta. Almost every review after the NDA was lifted showcased them. We have flashlights, headlights, base lighting and IRNV systems that are virtually useless currently.
Put them to use! Night can be dark, but that's what light sources are for, and few graphics engines do it as well as Forgelight. |
