Re: Just saw this on Smed`s blog

the ps2 dev team obviously dont have any control over players that hack, why would you warn hackers that you are coming for them instead of smacking them.I pretty sure that message "surveillance drones are watching" or w/e is just a desperate move and just shows that they do not have any control over theyre game.
Also there are 2(assuming the similarity of theyre names on different accounts) hackers on lithcorp every time, top speed maneuverable galaxy ramming all libs, aim bot, speed hack.
And after they get banned guess what theyre gonna do,maybe restart theyre dinamic ip and go again.
so to answer your question i dont think they have any kind of sentries.

They do regularly ban hackers, but that's not the point. The idea is that warning the hackers that you're coming for them might make them stop; a lot of people base their behaviour on whether or not they think they'll get caught. If a hacker stops hacking, he simply becomes a player, and for a FTP title like Planetside 2, the more legitimate players there are, the better it is for everyone.

There are, of course, some people who don't take the hint, and they're the ones that ideally get banned. In reality, some do and some don't. Like in any infosec field, the hackers and the anti-hackers are both constantly upgrading their toolsets to outdo the other.
