Will ps2 ever be like ps1

Hi all, im new to planetside started playing in the ps2 tech test. once i had played ps2 i had to go and check out ps1 and WOW amazing game i must say, a little out dated now but still amazing. my question is will ps2 ever be like ps1? there is so much missing from ps2 it makes me kinda sad, i was just wondering what you guys think?

Sorry if this has been asked before, im just wondering if i should stick around and hope they bring some of the features from ps1 to ps2.
