Better decals: Squadron markings

I was thinking lately that it'd be really cool to see something like squadron marking decals. Basically, what if you could have a set of markings that distinguish a squadron. It would go by outfit or squad, ie the entire outfit would have the markings. They could be cert unlocked (and station credits give more variety).
The kind of markings I am talking about are things like a red tail, or a blue nose, or a pattern on the wing, or a yellow and black checkered tail fin. Station credits could give more variety (bought by leader), such as a coat of arms, or something.
Alternatively, it could be done the long and painful way of everyone buying. (I don't back that possibility, but I'm being realistic)
