So I got the ign planetside 2 app, and one thing I found was that the "interactive map" was dreadfully unhelpful. It will tell me the title of a facility, and that is about it outside of the rare comment. If the idea is to give an idea of what an area is like, it's tactical strengths and weaknesses, and such, (in other words, be a military map) then it failed miserably.
In the upcoming official ps2 app there should be an interactive map that gives pictures of facilities, places to look out for, describe where choke points are, point out birds nests, offer topological views, real color views, cutaways of tech plants and bio-labs — generally give information that may prove helpful to an outfit commander in deciding where to strike next thursday and how. It is something only those who are curious and those who are scheming would use, so make it to facilitate their needs.
