That's really weird and shouldn't be the case. Try hitting alt that allows you to move your mouse during the game so it might work in the menu. Other than trying that I have no idea what the problem would be.

Thanks for the quick reply, unfortunately hitting ALT made no difference.
Just to be clear, there is a cursor, it is just not visible making selections becomes near impossible. During the first part of startup before the game goes fullscreen the cursor is visible. I'd hazard a guess it "might" be something DirectX related as I noticed the installer installs a version of DirectX at the start (something I loath given I usually have the latest version anyway). |

try again to go fullscreen after you have customised your graphic settings.
i had this problem in just one resolution setting (don´t remember which one) but it went away after i changed everything to what i wanted. also, if you happen to crash to desktop very often, try disabling physics. and check if you are using old drivers for your graphics card or reinstall the newest direct x. i don´t think planetside uses the newest version, and there might have been a problem caused by the version ps2 installed.

Thanks Shogun, gave that a try and lost my cursor again. I guess PS2 wants to use DX9 since that seems to be the common setting that works with WoW, SWTOR, Warframe etc, I have DX11 installed with my OS but always configure WoW to use DX9 which seems happy to be run in tandem.
I can't find anywhere in PS2 to specify a version of DX to use though. I'll keep plugging away with different resolutions etc and see what happens. PS. Using an NVidia GeForce GT 550M card in a Dell laptop. Last edited by Sangahyando; 2013-05-31 at 05:00 PM. |

if nothing works and you have the newest drivers installed, the last thing that comes to my mind is trying to exit all background programs you might be running that are not necessary to play ps2.
i quit everything, even steam. and only keep my logitech stuff (drivers/profiles) and teamspeak (without overlay because this doesn´t work anyways) ps2 doesn´t have an option to switch between different directx versions. at least not that i know. and i am sure it doesn´t use the actual version. so you are propably right that it uses dx9.
