Kinda a strange question. Why would anything kill in VR but not on live servers?

Yeah it does damage, but no one hit kills

Not sure if it's always been like this since I haven't bothered with the VR till recently, but it *doesn't* hit infantry in the VR. It just sails right through them, even maxes.

So in that aspect, it is a valid question.
And a bug insofar that the VR doesn't really represent how the weapon actually handles in the field.

Thanks for the answer, now the second part of the question is, does it actually kill infantry or only damages it, or it depends on type and infantry and equipment?

EDIT: actually I think I can answer this. Since even infiltrator has supposedly 400/400 health/shield, it takes two phoenixes to kill one, unless it's damaged already

You can even damage yourself if you shoot something near you or hit the ground near you.

It doesn't 1HK but its valid against snipers and DEFINITELY MAX units.

does it explode when you hit a max, or do you have to aim at the floor under the max?

in vr you have to shoot the floor because it goes right through a max.
