EQ:N has destructible environments, however it was built that way from the off using Voxels or Boxels (couldn't hear clearly) so I suppose PS2 wasn't so it won't be coming here. Shame.
I have to say it looked great although it is very hard to judge based on a short presentation. I like the idea of EQ:Foundation, I think that's what it was called. ** EQ:N Landmark oops. Good luck to them, what they did looked cool and I reckon I'll be trying it out for sure. Last edited by ringring; 2013-08-02 at 05:06 PM. |

EQ2 wont have near the data load on its network. And graphic precision wont matter near as much.
These 2 points allow EQ Next to be built in a totally different manner.

I doubt that EQN will have much of a technological impact on PS2. The underlying tech looks far too different. Of course it's the same engine, but the needs and focus of both games seem to be largely different.

Yeah I get that feeling as well. I think the only feature of Everquest Next that might get ported to PS2 will be the dynamic AI if they ever decide to add AI enemies into PS2. Like say an Alien bug race that swarms around hunting for certain resources attacking facilities that produce them. But if you kill enough of them they decide to go some place else safer. Doubt it would take much effort to port this straight from the Orc AI they mentioned in the reveal. |
