Intel Rapid Storage Technology

I get this little pop-up bubble in my bottom right tray thing occasionally and it says "Your system has detected one or more errors, and data may be lost. Open the application for details".

Clicking the bubble freezes my PC so I don't know any more than that.

I never used it, but its used for raiding HDDs or SSDs. Does your computer have any kind of RAID now?

Nope. So maybe it got installed by mistake?

the only other issue I'm noticing is my boot times are horrible now. It hangs on the windows logo for like a minute, whereas a week ago I would see the logo for maybe a second.

everything else is snappy and responsive once booted.

It's the storage driver on Intel Motherboards. Don't need to have a RAID for it to be installed.

It sounds like your harddrive is miss-configured or going bad.

i've had this hdd for a while (few months) so I assume it's the latter

So what do I just let it die and then get it replaced? it's still under warrenty.

I've already backed up everything that isn't a game (which was like 1gb of data lol).

You might want to check it with some of the suggestions here. Give tech support a call if you find something and they might do something before it's crashed completely.

well everything was back to normal, but now when I install a new game if I restart my PC it won't boot and forces me to do a restore.

this happened with my non-steam GOTY Oblivion edition and my steam Payday 2

running windows fixer or w.e "restored" back to a previous point which didn't have either game installed.
