Hi all!
Just recently a buddy of mine decided he wanted to play PS2 with me, but his computer is too underpowered. He's a gamer, however not really a "tech" guy so I decided to help him out. Fortunately I am a bit more saavy than he is, but still short of confidence to do things on my own, which is why I am here. 1. What is your budget and does that include shipping/taxes? Not including shipping/taxes, his Maximum budget is $350. Bare Minimum is $150. 2. Where do you live? Southern California. 3. What do you need this computer to do (like gaming, Photoshop, and so on)? Gaming, DVD ripping and burning, medium duty multitasking, web browsing, multiple screen applications if possible. 4. What parts will you need for the computer? Please list what parts. He needs a Video Card (because the prebuilt system he has didn't come with one), new PSU (because the one he has is 350 W). 5. Are you reusing any parts for this computer? If so please say what parts specifically. ASUS P8B75-M/CSM LGA 1155 Intel B75 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard Crucial 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model CT51264BA1339 Intel Core i7-3770 Ivy Bridge Quad-Core 3.4GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I73770 He has 16 GB worth of RAM total already. It's not the fastest RAM from what I can see, but it'll get him by I believe, unless someone else has any suggestions for a more balanced build? 6. What kind of monitor/resolution do you have or want to get to use for the computer? I forgot what type of monitor he has but it's a flat screen 22-25 inch.. I believe. 7. Do you have a legit OS? If so what OS and is it 32-bit or 64-bit? Windows 7 Ult 64-bit. 8. What are you looking for the motherboard to have feature wise? Like SLI, Crossfire, Firewire, USB 3.0, Sata 6.0 Gb/s, and so on. N/A. 9. Any plans to overclock the CPU or GPU? No on both. 10. What time kind of time frame are you planning on ordering these parts? Doesn't matter. The PSU and Vid card are the most important, although I did recommend him to get an SSD. He shot the SSD down for a later time. Anything would be great. Thank you guys. |

Cheap upgade that can get your friend in the game with no power supply upgade needed, ofcourse one wouldnt hurt but not needed with this card. I know some one around here will probably give you a more complex and higher performance option but this will give 1080p at low to meduim settings or 720p at high settings.
