in different games, lag does different things, like...
Americas Army: you shoot, and then 5 secs later your gun fires Rouge Spear: everyone warps Battlefeild 1942: you move your mouse, and 2 secs later the guy turns i can name a lot more for different games, but i was wondering what happens when PS lags?

Not to sound like the devil's advocate, but I like to think that Sony knows how to run servers better than the games you listed.
I know the games are two totally different animals but if they can run EQ so that the only lag most people see is from framerate due to an inferior PC and not from server latency then I'll be an optimist say that PS will run just as well. Perhaps PS will even run better since the server does not have to keep track of all the NPC's running around in addition to all the players. 'Course, I could also be talking out my a** since I haven't played yet and I only know a small amount of server architecture. I�m trying to have faith though. |

You wouldn't notice ping spikes in EQ unless they were pretty awful, however it's very easy to not them in FPS' because you are in constant motion and any lag will seriously affect what you're trying to do.
