however, there are already lots of CoDvert "Battlefield (3) fans" on the consolololols, they will undoubtedly check this game out "becuz it looks liek battlefield 3". i laugh at the intelligence of some console fans sometimes thank god not all of them are that stupid. |

I plan on switching to PS2 for PS4 when it goes live. I'm confident console players will have their own servers as doing it differently would result in little to no console players. Combined PC and console play was tried in the past and it failed miserably.
The biggest selling point for me is hackers won't be an issue for the most part since people will risk getting their PS3's banned. My brother is almost strictly a console gamer so we'll be able to play PS2 together which is nice. That and with having kids it's easier to play console games as I'm more accessible on a console than when I'm on a PC. With the PC I have to wait until after my kids go to bed before I can play a game. With the console I can play for an hour or two during the day while my kid plays in front of me. I'm not saying consoles are better. (I enjoy both) I've found they're just more convenient when you have little kids running around. When my son was an infant I used to hold him in the crook of my arm while playing shooters. I'm a big(tall) guy so he fit well. My wife tried to do it once but her arms aren't as long as mine so she couldn't hold him and have her hand reach the controller comfortably at the same time. This doesn't really have anything to do with PS4 or PS2 just a tangent I've run off on. |

that said, next gen im going with the PS4 as my main console. One feature that would definitely have me playing on that machine would be the ability to use my PC character on the PSN servers. Im certainly not going to upgrade and cert a new soldier, so the only way i'd play this more than a day would be if i had the chance to use the same character that im using right now, and having xp and certs sync between platforms. I also plan on getting premium later on (right now, i cant really afford it ), so it'd be nice if the same subscription could be valid on the PS4 version as well even if i dont end up playing on PS4, its certainly a good think to have a influx of new players to help keep the game viable to the developers the more, the better. Have already been singing the praises of PS2 to my console friends. Theyre really intrigued by my promise of the game being a trully "next gen experience!". And they get blown away when they see videos of a zerg assault Last edited by Retroman; 2013-06-18 at 10:00 AM. |

90% or more of the people who will start playing ps2 on the ps4 will get fed up with it and leave before they get invested enough to try and change the game or they will play the game for what it is and enjoy it to varying degrease, the remaining 10% or less will not have a strong enough voice to in the PS4 community much less the PS4 and PC community combined to convince SOE to change their game in the way you fear |

Despite the disinterest for having planetside 2 on PS4 vs PC combination. I was actually looking forward to that addition, many console gamers I know who i've shown planetside 2 to were awed at the scale of the player base involved in battles. Let alone the scale of the continent based battlefield. They have little interest in building a PC to play vids on (for shame).
I was a touch excited to hear PS2 being announced to hit PS4, only to be dismayed that my console buddies won't be able to cross platform with the PC servers. The additional injection of an entire new genre of players to the game would only serve to increase the games overall population/popularity. Instead of creating 2 seperated communities for the game. So.. i'm a bit disappointed by this move. |

microsoft tried cross-play at the beginning of last gen, with Shadowrun if i remember well, and they had to abandon the idea because console players were always losing. a pad is great for sports titles and such, but for a fps, a mouse is just miles better Last edited by Retroman; 2013-06-19 at 07:45 AM. |
