BETA DATE (The Haircut Thread)

Will EU players be able to get in:

1) the external tech beta (thursday)

2) closed beta starting on monday (if all goes well)

OR is it americans only?

I go away on holiday on the 20th and really wanted to play the Beta before then, hopefully i get to

Will all of the keys that have been given thus far eventually grant access to the closed beta, or will they roll over to granting access to the non-NDA beta if there are still people waiting?

(I guess that leads to the question will the open beta be invite/key only when things roll around to it or will there be a point where any person who has just heard of the game can download and access beta?)

Will there be any kind of option available for people to record their beta play sessions and then submit edited footage for SOE to use or discard? Maybe you guys could make it some kind of contest, and release some of the best (least buggy) footage as part of the promotional prize.

Of course, sorting through a bunch of footage may be more trouble than you guys are wanting to undertake at this busy time. Still, it could be a nice outlet for those who love capturing and editing gameplay footage to do so without breaking the NDA.

Of course. I'm thinking more about supporting the robust Planetside video editing community more than thinking about simply capturing footage, although I do bet that having quite a few of the testers capturing footage would capture some awesome moments that you would never see with just one or two invisible noclip devs recording things.

For beta? I doubt that is retail. These rumors 99% of the time is from some forum poster. I wouldn't even pay attention to them.
