Yeah, it doesn't make sense to tell us we'll be happy with the topic and then not announce something positive about beta.

I think it's safe to say the majority of people following this game just want to know when beta is starting so we can all hopefully start to get more information on the game and help test it.

In which case we wouldn't be happy with the lack of details as to how many will get in, how fast it ramps up, how long it should go, etc.

In their defense, if the first wave of slobbering baboons crashes the servers, it might take longer than planned to want the beta ready for additional cannon fodder to join the fight. Telling us "every two weeks such and such" and being unable to fulfill that "promise" will turn the un-enlisted slobbering baboons into screaming baboons.

In the development world, failing to deliver on the date you promised, especially when people get to play your game, is akin to the player base sentencing you to hanging from the gallows by barbed wire. Morons love to take simple mistakes to the extremes of injustice, and will not hesitate to march towards the furthest frontiers of the internet to slander SOE's name.

Wish said morons would put that much effort into advertising a game for a change.

They never actually officially announced that beta will even be coming soon; it was just mentioned in a couple videos/interviews. I wouldn't be surprised if the announcement is that beta will be starting in a couple weeks.

That's what I've been saying except replace "a couple" with "soon", take a shot and then keep obsesivley keeping up with every single PSU post for a hint of something new (damn, I used to have a life before PS2 was announced

).

That is my prediction and what I will continue to do until launch date

If you watch the videos from E3 on YouTube Matt Highby, the creative director, announced that the beta will be released "in a few weeks". Seeing as E3 was 2 weeks ago that could mean the beta will be out next week or week after.

Christmas will be here in a few weeks too. When they are ready it will be time.

Asshats will be asshats. So far, I gotta admit, the beta frenzy here is nothing compared to the trainwreck that was SW:TOR's beta hype. They had to shut down the forums many, many times after mishandled hype and unfortunate gaffes by the community managers. It was like virtual riots.
