The music, like the game, is still in beta. OP already told us that. We won a supreme victory when we badgered Sony into bringing Don in at the last nanosecond -- and badgering Don until he put a hurried demo together. Let's not look a gift horse in the mouth.
My tastes in music are different than they were nine years ago. Composers change as much as their audiences do. There are already some nice homages to the old soundtrack, and I for one am content with them. I too will miss the electric violins, but I got awesome stuff that sounds like it was composed by John Williams to replace it. And nothing is preventing me OR YOU, YOU DRUNKEN FANATIC YOU from popping 'desert_travel' into our iPods as we traverse the desert wastes of Indar, just for the nostalgia-blast of it.
