The democrats have done nothing socialist. They are practically clones of republicans just without the crazed religious people (well, not nearly as numerous) backing them.
One favours tax cuts and aid for one end of the scale and the other favours the same for the other side of the scale.
Any luck on finding a tax payer to subsidize your living expenses while your "busy learning" at college?

US oil production has increased under Obama:
http://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/Lea...s=MCRFPUS2&f=A

Oil price is set on the global market, doesent matter how much the US pumps it wont lower the prices significantly.

Its cheaper to import petrol from Europe than to ship it from the Gulf Coast apparently. Increasing oil production would only mean the US would export more oil. More than the 2 million barrels a day it already exports.
an interesting read:

While it is true in the literal sense, the cost of that production is much higher due to the techniques needed. Both the Bakkan Range and the Permian Basin are booming right now.

Yes, but that's only done because it became viable due to the high oil prices in the entire world.

It's nice though to just blame the president instead of, oh you know, supply and demand, international instability and oh. There's the whole shortage thing too.

No, it's all Obama's fault!

No, we're mostly paying taxes actually. Around 60-65% in our case.

Gas prices internationally per gallon (may 3rd 2008 prices, but you catch the drift)

1. Bosnia $10,86
2. Eritrea $9,58
3. Norway $8,73
4. UK $8,38
5. Netherlands $8,37
6. Monaco $8,31
7. Iceland $8,28
8. Belgium $8,22
9. France $8,07
10. Germany $7,86
...
111. USA $3.45

So sorry if I don't feel bad about the US paying around $4 a gallon and will call anyone a whiner and spoiled brat if they do.

EDIT: And yes, a large portion of those taxes were implemented by socialists. We do have some of the best road, harbour and railway infrastructure in the world partially because of the added state income though (ranked 7th in the world by rediff business, after Hong Kong, Germany, Singapore, UK, France and Switzerland)

If Ron Paul is so good for these corporations, like people keep saying, why don't they support him?

It's easier to bribe one group of politicians rather than 50?

Cause Ron Paul, who still can yet pull a Harding, is 50 politicians.

Perhaps it is because he won't accept money from them...

Yes climate changes, but not at this speed and when this change in climate starts when we really started pumping out the C02... well you can put two and two together.
