Wow I was wondering if Beta was really close or not. But now i'm a believer it could happen before March judging by that video. Looked launch quality except for the transition into Ironsights was jerky.

I brought that up in IRC earlier, I've seen quite a bit of people (not to many on this forum) say they were sure that PS2 beta was this month. If that were true then hell yea, but I doubt it'd be THAT soon.

Nah. Concidering they still seem to toy around with the indoor stuff, it may take a bit longer.

After all, they even dont seem to have any other planet ready yet.

and we haven't seen any indoor shots .....

I think the beta this month originated from Smedley who said something like .... "we're going into beta quicker than people may think at the end of this year or the beginning of next" obviously he said that several months ago.

On the whole, I'm with basti in guessing beta in March (but possibly May

).

they don´t need all continents for a beta start. some recent games did beta tests with only one or two maps, as well.

one map is enough to get people shooting each other and to start the balancing.
i´m not expecting to find the full game when i enter the beta client. whenever this may be ;-)
now it will show if smed can be trusted ;-) it´s early next year now ;-)

Is gonna be other continents, however. They come later in game after launch from what I remember.

I'm hoping for a LATE May Beta release, at the earliest, because my A-level finals will be in early and mid May, after which I'm on a long gap year or two, and I don't want any distractions!

I'm guessing at least two continents at launch-day. Indar and Searhus(which was already mentioned and confirmed at Fanfaire-2011 to be WIP)

thats my option too.

the can focus on map design and building once they have laid a solid gameplay testing foundation and start testing ASAP, because when it comes to sandbox and PvP games, you need that stuff tested thoroughly...or you go the way of the Mythic. (down the toilet)
