Encourage what? Blowing 80 BILLION isk on a floating piece of shit. THe Titans and the Mships are hardly worth what they cost. 20b for a Mship or 20b for an outpost... Id pick the outpost. 80B isk for a titan so you can, uh...... have it? or 4 outposts.... 4 outposts.
The titan right now is just a status thing, they cant do anything, cant even build them. Even in fleet battles they wont have the HP to survive. Their super weapon is mildly usefull but after that its a floating heap of shit. Great it can carry 5 BS in it... a whole 5. When your trying to resuply a fleet of 200 ships you need more than 5. The "slider" as I have come to call it (that being the worm hole generation) is worthless. Only 3.5 Light Years long at max skills. Thats not far enough to bring a substantial force. The DPS it puts out is less than some BS. No fighters. It even comes with an absurdly low amount of drone space. Definatly NOT worth 80b Isk. The Mship only has the extra fighters going for it. Whoopdie do. 20 B isk for the capabilities of 2 carriers (2 B isk). Carrying a max of 2 Tempests or 1 other type of BS and an assortment of cruisers / one tempest it also cant carry the replacements for the ships that it would be flying with. Clone facilities are utterly pointless if the newly cloned pilots cant get in a ship worth anything... and to expand on that max is like 25 clones. Gonna need more than that for your great fleet battles. |

I don't see the arguement against them being 'pwn-mobiles' (mind you I'm not arguing they should be solo vehicles - I'm just saying that their fleet 'advantages' aren't too 'advantageous' to justify the cost) as you call them... They're titans - they're supposed to be pwn mobiles and they'll be rare enough that it isn't incredibly unbalancing. And if someone with a Titan takes aim on someone without then all the power to them - THEY OWN THE TITAN. Right now a Titan is a status symbol that equates to saying "We had 80 billion isk to waste". And while we're on the topic of stupid bonii. Lets talk about the recon ship's 'afterthought' cynosural field bonus. If anyone has read the new EON, Digital Communist makes a very very good point about the bonus. With proper setups and positioning a fleet of Capital ships can be moved across the map undetected - this rely's on the ability of the cyno-field ship to get into position quickly which is much better suited to an agile frigate then a bulky cruiser - esspecially in enemy territory. Fuel reduction is moot, you only need to use the cyno field once per jump. Also, if you're going to use capital ships in a fleet, you're not going to want to do it in a cloaked ship because that implies that you'll be setting up the field right under the enemy's nose. It had the great potential to be something rather interesting, don't get me wrong, but because of the game mechanics surrounding cynosural fields the actual bonus is much less useful then it would first seem. |

I kinda thought up a change to the cynosural field that would make a bonus on the force recons useful.
Make it like an interdictor sphere or a scan probe, and give the force recon ships a related bonus to this new "cynosural field probe". The probe itself will emit a beacon, can be targeted and destroyed. While the launching ship is able to recloak. |

I can't wait for the tech 3.
Have you guys seen that railgun? +320 shield HP per gun with t2 stats otherwise.
