Don't need a botnet to do what Archlord did, even though its been explained as a website glitch and not an active effort to proxy or bot the vote.

All you need is some know how in setting up a slave machine, writing a quality script to loop, access to a Proxy Server, and know how to mask an IP and generate a large enough range that no IP value gets reused in a 24 hour cycle.

The defacto decision was that we were going to take the high road as a community and not game the system to ensure PS2 would win. I concur with that decision, and refrained from unleashing a realistically probable stream of macro'd votes.

We need to get this shit rolling again. Votes are slowing down considerably. Re-post it again as news? There's alot of traffic to the site, and most have probably only voted once. We aren't that far off from Firefall now!

Yeah us Firefall people are pretty pissed about Archlord too. However between us legitimate voters I would just wish to say good luck to the best community. I'll probably be lurking around and waiting for some more info on Planetside 2 to be released.

Have we heard from MMOSite about the Archlord thing actually?

Hey, they said they would talk to Webzen about resetting the votes but they haven't taken action yet.

Welcome. Yeah, I'm actually fairly skeptical that MMOsite will actually do something about it when they actually wrote an article freaking bragging about how Crossfire was getting so many votes and winning every catagory when that looks even more suspect than this Archlord crap.

This garbage really makes me think that either MMOsite just doesn't give a crap, or they are complicit in this fraud. I hope SOE and Red 5 keep this in mind next time they have some exclusive or media passes to hand out.

FireFall does look pretty cool, and I was totally into it, then Planetside 2 got announced. Then it was like an old girlfriend that you haven't seen in years and she comes back and she's gotten a boob job and isn't crazy anymore and wants to get back together with you. So yeah, her and I have a history so we'll give it another go.

Good luck to you guys though, I'll certainly be checking it out.

It would be nice to see a full spread of decent games in the top 3.

Guild Wars 2 makes sense as a top 3 contender and Tera looks mildly interesting for it's combat. I've got no problem with Firefall being a contender, as it makes for a nice rival to Planetside. Popularization of large scale FPS's can only help both games, I'm sure there will be a healthy number of people who will play them both. Firefall can hook em in by downplaying the MMO part, Planetside 2 can hook em in by playing it up. Together we can blow the lid off this fledgling genre.

As for the current 3rd place contender, once Archlord gets their shit kicked in, how is Repulse even an MMO? It claims to be one on it's official site, but I haven't been able to find any game info that corroborates that claim. You could make arguments for or against Firefall being a full fledged MMO, but it's got a hell of a lot more MMO qualities than Repulse appears to.

And what the fuck is Archlord anyways? Cheating bastards, that's what. Mediocre, rehashed garbage.

Yea i like the look of firefall, its looks refreshing as a shooter and an MMO, but in terms of PVP it looks to be all arena based, and im not sure im that into it. Iv done arena style games, skrimming in FPS and clan matches, it has it fun times and mega boring times and it seriously messes with the head doing that shit contantly.

I like Planetside, i like the thrill of hunting, never knowing whats out there or around the next corner or whats coming up behind you and jsut that epic feeling of constant war that only planetside can offer.

I will checkout Firefall for sure, but im sure ill drop it like a fat whore the second i can get wet with planetside.

One of the first things I always tell people when talking about Planetside is that it is pure PvP. Everyone you see in-game is a real person... It's not a hybrid FPS-RPG...

long day @ work, nice to see everyone still charged up,this poll crap is pure shit but we have to carry on.

if we have to, we can find other polls/places to spread the word,if anyone finds a good one(or what we think is a good one LOL )post it here and spam it on the PS2 twitter to get the devs to retweet and we move on to the next target,anyone here that has played PS knows how to move on to the next target,we know this is going to be a long haul and if we want to see a shit-ton of ppl playing we need to be active in spreading the word.

Archlord is at 24000 ( LOL ) gap between Firefall and PS2 is still around 1200...

I will paste a post-it on my monitor where the #1 is so that I don't see them cheating Archlord bastards and don't get angry right in the morning!
