Originally the game was had a working name called PlanetSide Next. For all we know SOE could of renamed it to Battle of the Planets: Honor and Death. Awful title, but you see what I mean.

I don't think Next was ever the working title. I believe that was the project title. Smedly had called it Planetside Next on twitter but the newsletters always had Planetside 2 somewhere in there with the subject of Planetside Next.

Of course I could be wrong, it's been 2 since at least September last year.

I think Next is just SOE's way of officially marking sequels. Except, since naming it as the number early on would suggest it is actually a sequel, when, in fact, it's not. Even though they ended up doing that anyway, I think of PS2 as PlanetSide v2.0 rather than PlanetSide Part 2. Wait, what?

i'm not sure if i like this, since things like this are usually US based, so it kinda screws over EU fans that cant stay up till 5 at night cause they have a job or school.

Well I suppose they also set some times that we EU people can play. Or in the weekends. I don't really mind a scheduled beta test. But I do hope it is on different time's so that everyone can play.

How long was the time beetween announce and beta start in PS1 and how much to game release?

HAve you ever partecipated to a SOE game Beta?if yes same questions above.

Does Soe have a fixed schedule or it will be like blizzard epic time beetween announcement and release?
