Let me just say this about the whole PS Vets getting early access and what not. If SOE decided to let all the vets play the game a day early or something, it would be the most BORING PLANETSIDE 2 DAY EVAR. how are we supposed to test a game thats designed for 3000 people fighting at any given time, when we probably wouldn't have 3000 vets log on.

I am all for us vets getting something cool like a campaign ribbon or something to show off our awesome vetness, but if it was JUST US TRUE VETS then we'd all probably just be bitching about all the not-ps1 parts of it lol. I would much rather be shooting at a bunch of morons who bought a magazine then a few crazy war vets

I will go back in my hole now

Been playing since 2005 btw, so I hope I meet the "True Vet" qualifications

I think PC gamer buyers and anyone who even went near getting a PS1 subscription is equally important to them.

You realise, don't you, that Planetside had several tens of thousands of subscribers?

Even if it would have only 100ppl per empire, first week would be far from boring. So many new stuff to check, so many new mechanic to test. Many will probably spend more time of first week testing stuff in small groups (<30ppl) than fighting in large battles.

You know I did pick up on that

I honestly just don't believe that that many vets are still around or very aware of everything. If the population of this and the official planetside forums is a good sample of the vets waiting for this I just don't see thousands and thousands of vets counting down the days like we do. Ya we have a small very active community, but not even everyone here is a vet and god we prob have a couple hundred active tops.

I'm not saying its going to be horrible boring, I am sure it will still be fun but I would just rather jump right into 3000v3000v3000 then have a day or 2 of 400v400v400.

If SOE dropped a mass email to every account in its Planetside account database, even discounting the ones that are using no-longer-active emails... and if PSU mass-emailed all of its members... it could easily hit that number. I think a lot more people are aware of the game than we see. We're only seeing a small microcosm here at PSU. I don't (ever) visit the official forums so I couldn't even tell you how many people check in there. I know that out of all the thousands of people on my Facebook friends list, a significant number are old-timey Planetside players... I had no idea. My home-page news feed is pinging with that "so-and-so and x-amount of others posted about Planetside 2" stuff and it groups all the posts. There's a lot going on.
