The pink hearts on the outside of the cockpit screens do seem a little bit too much, but I think customisation has the potential to be a great thing overall, for the reason mentioned above. This gives outfits the ability to fully define the way they appear in person. That's a GOOD thing. You won't be recognising that highly capable outfit by name alone any more, but by the schlong and trollface decals on its members' shoulderplates. I think people are jumping the stripy, day-glo pink gun here just a wee bit.

I think it's a brilliant idea! The more unique skins the game has, the better i say. Why so?
Well cause: 1) It will give people choice how to look in the game. 2) It will bring $ to the devs. Conclusion: it's a win- win situation here. On personal note: I'd like to see a tank column, all with cool skins and paints. It will be a blast to fire at and get shot by them. |

I think you all moan too much and I hope SOE doesn't listen to you lot and ruin the game based on whining forums like they did with SWG, EQ and PS. All the time all they do is listen and change the game based on the forums and not the stats they get back from people actually playing. Why I agree with Smedley and the Vocal Minority, though it didn't help that the changes they made sucked lol.
Being able to customise your ship is great and I cannot wait. |

A thing I do hope that is retained in Planetside 2 is that there is at least still a reasonable amount of distinction between between different empires in coloring. If you look at TB's liberator, it's almost completely covered by the zebra print. Any empire can do that, which means that NS vehicles can look exactly the same even if it is owned by different empires. And I know that you can easily see if the vehicle belongs to your empire or not by looking at the icon above the vehicle (red or green), but there still needs to be some constant difference between different empire vehicles to keep the immersion.

But we need to fight against the low TTK and other issues of that nature. To be clear, I am not saying we need a Planetside 1 insane high TTK - but at least noticeably higher than the TB video. |

A camo print that actually camouflages you, or at least confuses the ennemy for a few seconds... Is that REALLY a bad thing? |

The only thing that bothered me in the video is that we didn't get to see the main gun fire off....and that the liberator didn't seem to bank at all when turning. Since it is a gunship I don't expect it to be able to do barrel rolls (despite how incredibly awesome that would be with the lib's main gun) but it should at least have some tilt. Here's to hoping it is simply an alpha "feature"

And in your paragraph about storytellers, that is done for dramatic effect, it shows a real struggle by the protagonist by bringing them to hell and back. But that's just it, it is for entertainment and to add drama. Naturally the man who comes out of the same battle having faced the same threats but is in much better shape IS the better soldier. If you could run two identical battles where the end result is the enemy is utterly wiped out but the only things that change is the numbers of troops remaining, which would be more impressive and seem more professional and capable? A force that comes back with 25% losses, or the force that returns with 50% losses? Less losses and damage taken means that force is superior, and I don't see why that does not apply to individuals to. This is an old favourite said in the dog fighting industry: "When I'm looking to make a bet, I don't bet on the dog covered with scars and whose looking mean, I bet on the dog with the same win record who is clean as a whistle, because it shows he is so good that he doesn't even give 'em a chance to deal damage."
