Neg. Ex-girlfriend used to listen to it a lot.

That, And TSP is depressing as shit.

If by "TSP" you mean

The
Postal
Service,

Then I disagree. I guess you can say it's radiohead syndrome - some find it "music to slit your wrists to", others find it uplifting.

I am currently listening to "Jellybones" by the Unicorns.

I did. Xiu Xiu is not music.

I sampled Pink City, and a few others, and, of the ones I downloaded, Fast Car was the only one with some degree of rhythm, instead of total and utter chaos.

And, generally, I associate TPS (I made a typo, trigger, nyah =P) with "nothing Better" which is a wholly depressing song. Ive listened to DSAT, as well, which is a good song, but gets bogged down in its own monotone lyrics. Such Great Heights is what I'd call a "Happy" TPS song, but, that detached Kafka-Esque narration of words just brings it down for me.

And as per Radiohead, Triggar, I recently bled Muse dry. The bands are very much alike.

"Such great heights" The Postal Service

Not bad Frog, a little too happy for my taste, but "Such great heights" is pretty catchy.

Pink City is probably their most chaotic song. My personal reccomendation is I Luv the Valley OH!, Suha, and Apistat. Maybe Sad Pony Guerilla Girl. What I love about people who listen to Xiu Xiu is that they're used to music being clear-cut and everything. But Xiu Xiu combines tons of otherwise disorganized sounds together with a central beat rythm, not to mention a guy with the BEST voice possible for the kind of psychosis he sings. To me, it ends up being incredibly well-put altogether despite the individual parts.

Oh yeah, and:
"Modern Romance" - The Yeah Yeah Yeahs
