I think it would be a shame that the community was ignored on this one, this seems to be the biggest issue other than the kill cam that people. Its not game breaking but definitely a needed polish; an its the polish that makes games like WoW so popular.

Leave out the yellow part and you'd still be right. Also I hate you now for bringing that game up.

Aha I've had my time with WoW, with all the new content they bring I realise its more of the same so have finally broke that worse than crack addiction; buutt its undeniable that for 5 or so years the attention to detail in that game made it unbeatable. An when I hear people talk about PS1, second to the scale of the game its always the small little details that people love.

Maybe they could do something like Operation Flashpoint cold war crisis, ArmA, and ArmA 2. Its a simple animation for getting in things like heli or jeep and it has no moving doors or anything. It would be better like this rather than the mentioned delay where it would look wierd just standing ther a few secs.

The ultimate would still be the full animation system like PLanetside 1 with moving doors, and canopy opening up for the jets. Were NOT talking about full interior animations here either like red Orchestra/2, just simple get in/out like planetside.

Just looks so strange to be standing there and then *poof* you're inside a closed cockpit. Please bring back the animations. It had gameplay ramifications too as you couldn't just instantly get in a tank and shoot someone pursuing you.

That's really bad news, I always enjoyed things like that in games.

For example, just popping out of Mako in Mass Effect 2 annoyed the hell out of me.

This is not the way to go SOE, put the animations back in.

Up to '90s FPS games, the player would be a "floating" gun.
> After 2000 FPS games, the player would get arms & legs (!).
>> Next step is the enter/exit animations (not only vehicles, but turrets too).

GET.
ANIMS.
BACK.

Before anyone comes in here and says "This is part of modern shooters".

Halo is a modern shooter, and has Enter/Exit animations. So do many, MANY others. Two games ( That will not be named ), however popular, are not all that define modern shooters.

Exactly, in fact, Halo:Combat Evolved has become a standard for me in this regard and I always held against any subsequent game that didn't have it.

Amen.

For those of you new to Planetside. This is how important they were in the original production by the people that brought you tribes.

This was a test you needed to pass to get on the team.

I'd only want enter/exit animations IF they are made from a FIRST person view.

TBH the forced perspective and viewing angle change caused by the animations in PS1 annoyed me so much that I disabled them as soon as I found out how to do it back in 2004.

Plus a 3rd person animation would look really out of place in PS2 since infantry are otherwise forced into a 1st person view all of the time.

1st person animations would be okay tho.

I'd prefer first person animations as well but they'd likely be much harder to accomplish. Animating from the outside is a relatively easy task, but doing it from a first-person perspective means a lot more time because of how many more movements needed and how smooth it would need to be.
