SOE is just stringing us along,I have to figure given the lack of anything new for almost a month now is not a good sign relative to internal development game-wise.

I think that if SOE was truly excited about the way development was going, they would be showing the fan bois more than a few renderings.

Its a pretty good business decision to get some 'investment' from all the players resubbing for PS for 2-3 months before Beta imo.

I cant help but think that development has beend delayed. My optimism is limited to the fact, that I believe a game will be released. Yet, I doubt it could be anytime soon. No beta wouldn't make a lot of sense due to the resubbing tactic etc. While it sucks that it's taking as long as it is, i'm satisfied with my belief that eventually I will be able to play a sequel. Content yourselves with that. I mean think of worst case scenario of there not being another one. Yeah. I cried a little too.

What the heck is the deal with all the secrecy? Why don't they just tell us whats going on? Its not like were not going to play the game because we might have to wait 3 more months.

The development process isn't what irritates me, it's SOE's sad excuse for PR/Marketing. Giving the community the bare minimum evidence that the game even exists, and then ignoring us completely. Then the only other information we have on the game is a couple words from an EQ video...

I think this only proves SOE's intentions, that they don't care, and I'm not being a crybaby. PS hasn't really had any more developer attention in the past few years but it has still been bringing money in. That's all the PS name is, it's free money they know they can make by paying a few employees for a couple months. PSN is probably just their next "second job" type of cash flow. It will be abandoned shortly after so they can work on APB and EQ2,4,5, infinite.

That could actually happen with me. I'm starting to get tired of PS1, and am trying some new MMOs. There's a couple good ones I think I'll sub to, and I'll only pay for one over the summer.
Plus Old Republic is a big MMO comin up, if it ain't out by then I'll be hooked in that for a while.

First off as this is my first post, HI! i'm Koop and i'm addicted to things whose acronyms are PS and have been as of *checks station launcher* 18 days ago and i'm really wishing id started playing when this thing came out.

I'd just like to say the smedly is a bigger tease than my girlfriend and that's not ok.

I'm no stranger to game development but if we don't see something concrete in next few days I politely suggest a riot. Till then i'm off to get shot by those mean NC / TR

How can you have played Planetside for any period of time and be at all surprised by this? Heck, I remember years back when they broke down the finances and said that it was unlikely any sequel would ever happen. I haven't been subscribed for a few years but PS has always been their red-headed stepchild. Let's face it, we'll take these breadcrumbs and they know it. Say what you want about companies like Blizzard or Valve, but they've at least shown you can intelligently respect your fans and build a huge brand, whereas SOE seems to be business as usual for a decade without evolving.
