Thanks for the props, all. Like my man Injectedsenses said - its a team effort and we're firing on all cylinders to deliver the best-sounding FPS MMO out there.

I do have a question about voice macros- will they have the so sweet yet subtle voice modulation/effects like in PS1?

There was a bit of a flange effect on the PS1 voices, now wasn't there? Difficult to say - we have all of our VO recorded already, but since players can customize their characters so much with full face masks / helmets or not - it's a tricky proposition.

I'd be happy to come through and record more voices for you guys if you want. Just for the sheer fun of it.

I would buy them in a heartbeat. Those voices were one of the countless things that I loved about PS1, and part of the reason was the unique effect applied to them.

BTW- Rodney and Injected- You guys got the blue names!!! Sweet!

Noooo! The PS1 voices were so cheesy. Especially the manic female with her "hiya!!!!!!". I have a lot of affection for the game, but the voices would be low on my list of things to buy in the cash shop. (Other opinions are available!)

That's what made them so great, so much more fun to use than some gruff serious sounding voices. I always used that male voice... Greenhorn I think, the one who always sounded a little panicky. And the ditzy blonde voice going "Is that your best??"

Lol. I'm having a giggle to myself thinking about their voices.
Wonder how the new ones will be. Will they take themselves all serious or go more light-hearted again?

Welcome guys! Thanks for dropping in to say hello.

As someone who has now experienced the in game sound in person I can say it is AMAZING. Honestly there was nothing like just standing there and having a reaver fly in over your head. The experience I got from that made the hair raise the back of my neck.

Excellent job all around.

The aircraft engine sounds where the first things to distract me with such joy I had to watch it again to get the other details. They sound incredible, the strike run on the parked tanks was also full of great thuds and booms.

But the engines, my god it was amazing

yep, sound´s great! i love that the engines don´t sound like any generic aircraft in any other game. great distinctive sounds!

they sound different, but convincing! that´s hard to do, but you nailed it so far!

Tanks need to sound more meaty because they sound rather weak atm.

I want to praise the UI guy though, it just looks amazing and didn't expect SOE to deliver such a good looking UI. Many aspects of the game has blown me away, I expected SOE to turn this into a small scale F2P instanced FPS. I didn't think SOE would go all out and actually create a true PS sequel.

After SOEs past I was ready to be disappointed, so to turn my opinion around just means how great PS2 is looking.

I have a question actually, can we expect to hear bass thumps from distant explosions or would that tax the engine too much? Would be really awesome to fly toward a front line and hear distant thumps slowly turn into the sounds of a raging battle.
