i think it would be best if CR gave you command certs, and there were about ten abilities to buy from. that way, maybe you could have orbital strike by CR3, but you can't see enemies or friendlies or write on the maps.

Orbital Strikes don't take any Outfit points yet and I'm willing to bet they never will. Is that a good thing? Yes. You need to remember that when some people reach the pinacle of the game (CR5, BR20) they eventually get bored with it. At least 4 of the original Terran CR5's on Markov are gone now. They left but new people arrived. For "everyone and their brother" to be able to launch Orbital Strikes they'd all have to be at least CR4, something that will probably never happen.

Chances are that if you have an OS you did something to earn it. The player is likely a bread winner for the outfit and earns plenty of points. I don't believe they cost anything ATM but even so. If/when they do, large outfits with lotsa points and cr4+. I doubt can OS enough to drasticly effect their points.

Dear Revolver,
That was originally stated before the Command Features were even implemented into the game. Tell me, why didn't they put a price on Orbital Strikes from the beginning? And just how many patches have been released since they said OS's would cost Outfit points? Ponder that one. ghost Last edited by ghost018; 2003-07-31 at 01:38 AM. |

The grief on OS seems capped at 50 and generally happens in multiples of 10. I've hit 5 friendlies (oops) with an OS and only gotten 20 grief. One of the VS CR5s OS'd a huge group of friendlies a couple weeks ago (enemy ams was hacked and quite a few friendlies spawned there.. ouch) and got 20-some friendly kills and still only got 40 grief. |

The method of killing an AMS is drastically changing. Rather than having Reavers or Liberators bomb the hell out of them, or sending in MAXs and tanks, the 'attack force' is now a bunch of jackasses in agile with surge on. Once they mark the spot with their body, their groupies break out the OS.

Agile with surge is the wrong method for spotting amses. Infiltrator with surge is the right method, with nearly %100 success rate to back it up. Or the best is having the cr4/5 in the infiltration suit, and just dropping the os on yourself, guaranteed results!

If I recall, when they first implemented the OS the other month, it DID NOT eat any outfit points. However, as planned since its creation, I think a patch afterwards corrected that and it now currently eats up outfit points... something like 3000. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong... though please provide a source.
