Any word of when we're going to see more outfit features? We know not to expect progression for a little while, but what about things like the outfit decals, uniforms and tools for organization?

I think I know what Hamma was feeling he was missing.

After parking his gal, he has two options, plant a turret so he can guard his investment ( Resources ). That's rather stale... A man and his stationary turret. Or, he can foot it to join his squad. A precarious proposition.

Whats missing are things like: Parking the gal in the AMS bubble. Laying a mine field, setting up Spitfires, Aegis bubbles, hoping into the buggy in the back. Entire fringe play methods of contribution are gone.

Same for the AMS Err.... Sunder drivers.

Hes left with fly, shoot, or hide.

The standard PS1 like infiltrator will come post release.

I dont fly a Galaxy but they sure have gone from a must have vehicle to a token taxi.
Not sure that squad benefits are going to make them much better.
They need something to benefit the empire as well.
Maybe some sort of AWAC/C2BM ability.

I honestly dont blame him. SOE made it clear from the start there would be significant differences between the two games yet they get bombarded to copy paste ps1 mechanics over at every turn. Granted some things should be brought over but a lot of the things I see are just people wanting it just cuz it was in ps1 even if the ps2 version works just as well or better. His patience on that is probably wearing thin.

Personally, I think Hamma's idea to be able to deploy the Galaxy and give it a weapons and armor buff is really sound. It can't move when buffed, but it has lots of guns (that can be upgraded and customized), which would make it a pretty sweet forward base to park near a Sunderer. Even if it didn't have anything else, this deployment option would be useful.
