Every subscription based game I've ever played (alot) has made me pay the first $15-20 (first month included.) /shrug. Planetside 1 is also $15. That is what I base my opinion off of.

Yeah, buying a game and then paying a monthly fee is how MMO's have run for basically like, the last 10 years? It's only VERY recently that SOME games have started switching over to F2P with microtransactions. I dunno why anyone would be confused over Sony using the previous model. Or combining them, etc.

Because I haven't seen a subscription based game yet that makes you pay $50 up front.
