NC - No lock-on for AV, Lock-on for AA MAX. VS - No lock-on for AV, Lock-on for AA MAX. TR - Lock-on for AV, no Lock-on for AA MAX. And of course there's the common pool Skyguard, which has no lock-on. See how everyone has an AA weapon that locks on and one that doesn't? |

Only problem is that flares (chaff as well) only work on some missles. Heat-seeking missles have a chance of being messed up by flares, but are the homing missles of VS AV and MAXes heat seeking?

Lock-on is NOT bugged against aircraft (at least not the Striker or Starfire and I don't have too much trouble with the Sparrow). It sucks against ground targets, but I think there's a problem with if there's anything nearby your target, like a rock.
Up in the air, there are no such obstructions, so it's not so hard to target them. Countermeasures are needed anywhere that a Starfire MAX is for sure and pretty much anywhere. Not a 100% success CM, but something that will give you a 50/50 chance, especially if you break away. As much as people complain about Reaver spam...if they didn't have to hug the deck, they wouldn't see you until it was too late to make an attack run...it's hard to see infantry up in the air. |

A EMP bubble that extends out 10M from the aircraft, sheilding it from missles and other locking projectile, also makes pheonixs dumbfire when they hit the field. So, basically, it doesn't KILL the missle, but it makes anything that goes through it dumbfire, so it won't protect dumbasses who just sit still, you gotta keep moving. Runs off the same power as the afterburners, but drains energy 3/4 as fast.
