Cool, so then the UKs can ping 150 to US west(OR JUST PLAY ON THEIR OWN SERVERS) instead of Oceanics pinging 250 to US east.

Yeah, point #4 is my opinion. #1-#3 are facts.

About #4, it is, a mild trend at best. I think West Coast players tend to be slightly younger than East Coast players - and Europeans the oldest. That's just a hunch, and maybe not as true as it was some years ago.

Was trying to push for universal ID's for these reasons (ping).

Lived in Texas, Florida, California, now in Hawaii (to name just a few). Would like to keep my characters without making new ones if ping gets bad or I move back to Texas or Florida.

Usually, I just endure the ping if my MMO characters are well established on their shards.

Asshats are everywhere regardless of region, so are good helpful people. I even ended up accidentally on servers where 90% spoke non-English I'm sure if I stayed and learned their language, there would have been good/bad folks there too.

I'm not offended, but I've also lived on both coasts. I can see how some would take offense to #4 from OP.

Reason to play West coast servers - the action persists until late in the night.

East coast servers die off quickly as all the east coasters go to bed, but West Coast servers often live strong even until 5-7 am East-Coast time.

Even 3am east coast is just midnight west coast so if you're a late night player you've better off playing on West Coast servers.

West coast is obviously preferred for oceanic players as well. They help keep the action going 24/7.

nah, I'll prolly have an alt on east coast for when the battles die out on eu... did the same in PS1 and it worked great.
But for the record... both east and west have idiots, douchebags and noobs. And the eu server had it as well... you can never escape it.

I'm a European evidence.
I had an alt on Emerald if Europe servers are down.
Mostly we had no problems to play on Werner in long nights.
Most time we stayed on Werner.

All my friends had an Alt on Emerald too.

#2 is absolutely reasonable and mostly a fact.

Markov and Johari died before Emerald. In WoW the east coast battlegroups became "the place to be" after the west coast realms all died.

Exactly. I like certain aspects of other server zones, but latency trumps all.

If they make more than 1 server I hope that they atleast allow us to jump from server to server.

I'll play wherever the Enclave plays. Internet connections are so fast these days that 3,000 miles doesn't make much of a difference.

They should put all the NA servers in Dallas. It has a good ping to everywhere in NA. Then they dont need to divide the player base by time zone.

Agreed but Colorado would be an even better choice (almost dead center on the map)
