Fallbrook actually. Damn! We all be close.. We should all hook up some time... I know Hamma is just a bit north on the edge of Orange County.
Incomp Yeah, but it still might stand that the tanks might be the arty. =) Yeah I had a feeling the angle had something to do with it but even still, it's possible...

Well the Magrinder almost certainly has an energy weapon so the only tank i can see making a viable arty sub is the Prowler with its massive, twin guns. I don't know how big they are but there both bigger then a Vanguard's (a medium tank, not heavy) gun.
I don't think that there use will ever become prominent tho, it takes 3 people to crew on and artillery is a battery weapon, so you'd need 2 squads worth of people, all with the proper certs, to put up an effective barrage, assuming you can even load explosive shells instead of armor piercing. Edit: actually i just thought of a way it might be possible, officers can have a picture in picture of there subordinate's view, meaning you can have someone spot for you and order people to fire for effect, but that would be innefective as it would take forever to zero your fire on a certain spot, but if you know where the enemies coming from, maybe. would have to be a very specialized outfit to pull it off

I am all the way on the east coast I think arty would be interesting. However the high speed bombers would be a bit out of balance.. they'd have to include some countermeasures like AA (i dont believe there is any AA at this time) There are automated and deployable turret systems. |

use Tanks for Artillery, I doubt you'll need 3 people per tank if the tank aint moving (although would be eazy to be blown up by a rocket), I'm Defently going to use some of those tank people for artillery reasons, then once infantry get close enough have them move the tanks up..

both guns are independantly named so you need at least two, and you need several spotters, and escorts, and a small ammunition convoy for any sort of sustained fire, and escorts for that, and air cover, so in the end it probly comes out to 8 or 10 per tank

its pretty fucking obvious that it has indirect fire. all your picture shows is a tank that isn't firing and is aimed as low as possible.

i mean it's a shitty angle that throws the barrel out of proportion, it's to short for use as artilery, not enough range.
This is a Paladin, an actual 155 mm artilery piece This is a Vanguard This is a German PZH 155 mm self-propelled gun notice the subtle difference between the barrels there are no pictures of the Prowler that aren't very old, so i just guessed about them

I thought i read a dev post somewhere about the reason there was not any specific bombers and arty units is b/c they didn't want a spamfest like tribes was.... they want skillful kills and not people racking up BEPs by the truckloads with arty spams and bombers..... (maybe it wasn't a dev post but i did read it somewhere) I would like a fast, mobile, fighter jet for dogfighting though (current PS aircraft doesn't count)

Well the way i see it while boats would make for more weapons and different combat scenes it wouldn't be very useful since i doubt lakes and rivers will be all that useful. Maybe a sort of amphebious(sp?) vehicle would work since you could still go on land.
