But seriously, its not like these screenshots came out of no where... There was a survey sent out about a year ago, and theres been little things dropped here and there before we even got the first screenshots. Then within a couple of weeks we got more screen shots, and devs commenting on stuff. Just because there hasnt been anything for a bit doesnt mean they've given up, its a little shirt sighted to start jumping to that conclusion.

I don't believe that the game isn't coming out, but I do see what the OP is saying.

The game is supposedly going to come out in spring of this year, and yet here we are on the cusp of spring with not even a splash site that says "Planetside next: Coming soon!"

So is the game coming out? Yes, most definitely.

Is the game coming out in the spring? fat chance. Beta might activate in spring, but set your hopes for summer/fall for a live launch, because launching your website along with your live version of the game at the exact same time is rarely a good idea.

I think this is more a case of us getting information/renders very, very prematurely because we're a fansite that's loyal to the game and mistaking that for some kind of marketing.

Also, I know there was that weird article a while back about PSN being released in spring, but I think it's probably the announcement of the game being in development that we might see in spring. I don't want to see this game until at least late this year, if not next.

I've thought it over some more, and I don't really like the idea of adding to our spell of pessimism it felt like we had going here for a minute. But Mag-Mower has a point that taking into account the timing of PSN survey a while back puts the games development cycle in a little better perspective.

At least for me, I know I just got really excited about all the news recently coupled with the rumors about March being really important, like Release or Beta type important that things just got out of perspective.

So what I am thinking now is it time for another survey? or is it to the point where all opinions and changes should be made at the beta / alpha level rather then polls?

I am conflicted because for example this forum has many great ideas but collectively together they all wouldn't meld well into a great game. Some ideas on either end of the spectrum would have to go for the greater good. So in the end, the developers will still have to make the "right" decision because we all can't have our personally favorite ideas every time... and that is the hardest part for me... having faith that progress is being made in the best possible direction behind closed doors.

Media blackout was stressing me out a little, but you know what? The wait will be worth it.

Jeez when did people become such nublets, I expect better of the Planetside community. As someone said before, we spent nearly a year between the first Pside screenies and the actual game. Without one drip of info between, no websites, no devs talking to us - no nothing so quit your whining and stop expecting to have the game delivered to your demands along with special treatment in terms of screenshots and game information.

Y'know they might wanna not reveal the entire game just yet, just saying. They've already confirmed that there are similar vehicles and similar empires, that's a massive load of exclusive information right there.

Also how about Mass Effect 3, we haven't heard anything new about that in months. OMFG MASS EFFECT IS VAPORWARE, ITS NEVA COMIN OUT, THEY AREN'T MAKIN It ITS ALL LIIEEES.

Its about the fact that smedly made half these people belive that its being released next month. If he said, "October" people wouldn't mind so much.

I still think he ment an announcement in q1/q2 or release fiscal q1/q2.

True however DNF really was scraped an rebuilt like 3 or 4 times over the years. What we will play soon is probably little like it was originally.

An DNF should never be mentioned if your trying to inspire hope an encourage people to be patient lol.
