Re: Universal Cert Pool

As I said, I just wanted to see what folk's thoughts were. Interesting it's about split down the middle. I didn't mean universal cert unlocks, I just meant sharing a common cert pool that characters could draw from. As for watering down, sadly, that continues. Hell, the ability to advance skills or equipment was planned to be isolated to what you use. Meaning, if you used a Jackhammer, XP earned with it could only be used to advance the Jackhammer. Somehow that got lost in development.

You initial post is wrong in regard to how unlocks work with cert purchases, why dont you fix that up.
And make it clearer what you meant to say in that post instead of down here.

And I'd vote maybe, but a definite yes for when you reach BR100.

imo it's a resounding "fuck no".

The only way i would deem this even slightly acceptable would be if your characters only shared a common pool with similar faction characters, on the same server.

There needs to be less, not more encouragement to cert farm on the easymode/OP/FOTM/over-populated faction/server.

I'm not advocating for this, it's just a random thought. This should be an interesting discussion. F* it, might as well make a poll.
You mean if I play with Sunrock on Miller and earn 500 certs I can then use those 500 certs with Monopolyhat on woodsman?

I don't see the point with that. And from SOE's point of view they would loose money long term. So I don't think it will happen.

Interesting idea, but it's a No from me.

Part of the pleasure of starting a new character is slowly certing it up.

@Figment - I have 3 NC chars; sometimes I play at unusual times and it is good to be able to hunt around for the best action when things are quiet. I recently started a char on Waterson, where I can find some good action if I am playing late at night in the UK.

I vote no. The issues we have currently with empire jumping arsehats render this idea dangerous to legit players.

Thanks for you left-field thoughts though.

I think it would be great!
The NC everyday wins a event for domination, and I don't receive anything for that!
With a common cert pool I will receive those nice 80+ certs doing nothing! (More then 100% cert rate here)
Vote no!

Believe me, you don't want this. This is 4th Empire/stat padder galore like nobody's business. It's bad for SOE's business as well, which in the end is bad for us. Current system is fine.
