I like tool, tool is definatly one of my favorites, but i would really have to go with more of my punk rock side if i had to pick a #1 band, prolly would pick senses fail/nirvana/muse/AFI/Placebo/Bad Religion. Dont get me wrong, I <3 mosh and such music.

i gave up listening to punk, i agree that there are some very good punk bands out there

but most of all their music sounds the same

the composition of punk is just lyrics, with some bland guitar tunes, and the lyrics are all basically the same

I dont break up music into genres anymore, i break it up into bands, and the ones I like, the original ones I listen to

tool is one of the most original sounding bands there is

I dont like to divide it into genres, its just that it describes them, and i dont know about them all sounding the same, but similar i admit.

For me, I know alot of people will disagree and argue and what not but for me Limp Bizkit is the best. They throw one hell of a concert, woodstock 99 anyone? I like just about every song they've made. After them is prolly either POD or Godsmack. Not in to the old rock or anything although I do like The Who and ACDC if there considered old. I hate Mettalica with all my heart and despise there shit.

Yes, you're right.. people will disagree with you.

And yes, for the record, you can consider The Who and ACDC old

Earth is old.

I think the Cavewights Rocklers way back in 36000 BC were the greatest. They also invented fire, and poached eggs.

I'm not a fan of having a "greatest band" kind of thing. Different people have different music tastes.
I can't even say that I have a personal favorite, because i like a lot of bands, but there is no one band that i can just sit down and listen to indefinetly. I need a mix.

Did a gig with the symphony orchestra which is arguably one of the most innovative and fantastic live performances ever

Totally agree. I'm a fan of Iron Maiden, but I absolutely love Metallica. Their music evokes so many different emotions, it's just hard to explain. Definitely my favorite band, as well as a pioneer of many new aspects of music. However, that doesn't mean I see them as the most influential band of all time. Perhaps in metal, but many other bands/artists have done extraordinary things in their respective genres. I'm generally pretty open minded on music.

On a note though, I honestly don't see why the Beatles were and are considered the "best band evar!!!111" To me, they just don't sound all that special. *dons the kevlar*

Juno Reactor, a Trance group who made most of the music for the matrix. They most notably made the music for the freeway scene in the second matrix.
