Role Players should die. Role playing is just pretending your somone else cause your own life sucks. If your own life sucks FIX IT ! then come back and don't roleplay
Do you know how stupid you sound when you role play. Unless the person your talking to roleplays chances are the person is thinking " " !

I'm waiting til I'm in beta to make my final decision...
But JUST from what I'm feeling from info I've read.... Vanu seem like they might be a tad under-powered, weaker weapons & less armor for mobility... but almost no mobility gain I've really seen outside the MAX's (tanks still sink over rivers, no mobility increases for any units other then MAX)... NC.. are ok, but i personally dont like shotguns... and lots of their power is in the slow-moving tank(or at least, i expect to be slow moving, if it zooms around at near-MAX speeds then I'd quickly change my reasoning on this)... TR... Rate of fire is always nice, if you dont hit em with the first bullet, the 2nd bullets just a fraction of a second away, allows for spraying large numbers of people also, so can act 'kinda' like a shotgun in terms of 'spraying'... the ROF makes up for the lack of 'spread'... I personally have no problems with any of the colors chosen, i mean, they all look fine, I've built web pages using all the colors they mentioned, and dount think 'yellow' is worse then 'red' or 'purple'... All the colors will stand out, no one color is better then another...... the key if your looking to hide is defusion of the colors, in which case i think Vanu are best, there are more 'lines' and less "solid" states of color which shout out to the eye, more lines generate more diffusion and end up looking closer to a 'blur' of purple-black rather then a 'blur' or yellow or red... Just my 2cp from my little bit of study on camoflauge =p |

Just do what I'm gonna do: Be all 3 empires . If it's going to be like they've said, and you have access to all the servers, then you could be a different empire on 3 different servers. When you decide on a favorite empire, switch to that empire on your home server. So far I like NC the best so I'll make it my home server empire (US East), then maybe Vanu for US Central, and TR for US West. If when I play the game I like Vanu or TR better then I'll make that my empire on my home server instead. I honestly don't know what the big fuss is about. I personally wanna try all 3 empires out, and even possibly play each empire regularly all the time. I for one would like to experience as much of the game as possible .

Struggle to keep playing this game for a few months with no RP? i dont think i evne need to give examples, but i will, FPS games such as Quake 1,2 and 3 are still going strong, as is CS, people have played those for years, and as u should know, theres no rp in those. I think its more a factor of 'if u find the game enjoyable, you keep playing' with FPS games, wheras it differs slightly with MMORPG, as alot of mmorpgs ive played, UO for example, i never really enjoyed, i just became addicted. Thats the point to look at when ppl say "theres not much room for development of my character, why should i keep coming back", main answer being, its an fps game, come back for whatever part of it being an fps game you enjoy. As for this obscession with the NC being obscessed with shotguns, god knows where thats come from, mainly due to the fact that the NC have more anti vehicular missle weapons than they have shotguns. Also, having one of probably the best rifles in the game is always an advantage. There is also the fact that Dave's said that the spread on shotguns is going to be alot less than in other FPS's out atm, thank god for that, bout time they had some realism in shotguns, look at the one in natural selection for gods sake, thats just comical. Also the presence of solid shot rounds for anti armour, and a 3 barrelled shot 'just to make sure', really do give us a big advantage in prolonged "oh crap im out of primary ammo" firefights. Laters =P 2 shot burst 6 hit kill over spray and pray any day =P |

Role-Playing is great, not everyone takes it to the extremes, hell, fps's are all role-playing games in the most basic sense... YOU are a PLAYER in the WORLD of the Game =) just like an RPG... very, very few role-players actually play games saying stuff like "Hail, m'Lady, I am Sir Gareth of Ubersville, Would you like to accomany me and my traveling companions on a raid of a nearby bandit force?" bleh lol.. In my 10 years playing Role playing games, table top and online, I've only met -1- person who took that to that extreme, and over 50 who dont... "Role-Playing" in PS can be as simple as your style of play, Such as, Choosing to snipe, actually sneaking around behind enemy lines, getting cover behind a tree, thinking the best way to approach the situation of 3-4 guys ourside a base, lining up shots, and taking fire, hiding, taking another shot, hiding, etc.... You just role-played... Just in a more visual sense... you played the role of a solo sniper, as he -might- actually do it... as with all role-playing games theres often more then 1 way to accomplish the same goal... Anyway... RPG'ers are NOT simply people who overobses with the game and take on a 1st person persona in game, and sometimes out ... =p Almost everyone role players, the degree is all that matters... and in PS, i doubt they'll be many 'obsessive' role-players... cant communicate fast & safely enough to do so in a FPS.... but there will be a LOT of people who take on the 'roles' of transport pilots, tank pilots, jet pilots, Snipers, Front-line grunts, commanders.... There would be almost no good games w/o some level Role-playing... The Sims---you play the 'mayor' in many of them(sim City), or the farmer(sim Farm), or the Owner (Sim Tower, etc.), a 'grunt' for some force(most FPS's), the 'racer' (Any racing game), the WW2 soldier (bf1942)... We'd have things like Tetris and MS Paint w/o Role-Playing |
