From my personal perspective, I lost all faith in SOE back in 2007/2008. I was bitter and angry that this dream-game was so poorly treated by its creators. I had always hoped for another MMO-FPS - Global Agenda had me excited and then I saw what a giant hunk of worthless shit it is, and how they can call it an MMO with a straight face is beyond me. Now I am cautiously optimistic for the first time in years.
But I can assure you, if they fuck this up then I will never ever buy an SOE product again, and will spare no vitriol at mockery. |

^^ what he said
I understand everyone wants to see something but please just relax, we have had the best news - formal confirmation of a go from Sony. Although it has always been implied and a dead cert as it has been put in other companies result statements, it is more than you had last week. |

I don't see how they could mess this up for me. As long as it is a skilled base game with massive multi-role battles and 3 factions I am going to be ridiculously happy.
I hope SoE spends lots of $$ on marketing so that it the new game will have a lot of players, but I will be happy either way. It'll just be sad if its a smaller game because so many smaller MMOs get little support/updates. |

To the OP: On the contrary friend, I think you do get it, you just have a bone to pick. That's fine, until you start accusing the devs of lying.
They made the decision to switch engines. That changed EVERYTHING. The images of the Mossie and the Reaver? Toss them, the model will look like it but the graphics themselves won't. Feature list? Adapted to the new engine. No BFRs means no BFRs, but they probably changed the stable of vehicles slightly. Release date? Pshh. They don't even know anymore. I give it 2 months before we get anything that we can sink our teeth in or anything we can look at and believe in. That is, unless SoE has an awesome conversion tool for their new proprietary engine, which alone is huge news. |

If you check you will see this post was made BEFORE any information about why ps:n was delayed even after getting MORE staff. Now whether smed posted because he read this post I have no idea and care not a jot tbh. However now we know the engine is being "refined". |

It's meant to be a ballpark estimate. That we have the reason now is awesome, but my point is that you called Smed a liar and that you did not correct yourself anywhere in this thread does not make me an idiot, it makes me, ironically, assumptive. That you took a press release with a sketchy window to be completely correct is your own fault; its not a lie. *Edit* Of course I'd have loved a date that was completely right for once, but things obviously change and it was awesome to get a candid look at what was happening behind closed doors for once. That changing would be wishful thinking, though, and I have no patience for fools. Last edited by otomotopia; 2011-04-06 at 08:28 AM. |

I'm more likely going to pre-purchase Brink now... It looks awesome, anyway, so...
