Sure they will, I have seen so many people throughout the years say, that "if it was free to play I would play it." Especially if they put it on steam like they have with ps2. You can actually download ps2 from steam which is cool, they would most likely do that too with ps1.

You underestimate the draw of F2P. It's been used to revitalize many old games with a new influx of players, especially MMO's.

I have never played PS1 but I would certainly go and try it if it was made F2P.

You kidding me man? They have Counterstrike 1.6 on there, it was made in 1999. Counterstrike Source was made in 2004, and Planetside in 2003. They should more then be able to put this game out there.

With all the PS2 spam, I can't find the original post, but yeah, Steam at some point apparently changed the acceptance rules on that.

I don't want PS1 tied to the current pixelated dung heap they tried to pass off as a sequel.

SOE is a big enough company to keep a server up and running for planetside without tying it to the current one.

Ironmole, I personally know two dozen former players that would jump in if they didn't have to shuck 15 bucks a month out of their wallets.

You guys do realize less then half of the PS2 pop would crash the PS1 server, and that there is in fact only ONE server? lol

I would love to play PS1 again for a while but not if takes anything away from PS2 resources.
