Seeing the ANT go away for me is fine. The only bad part is, that was a great element to the base capture experience. So many times battles teetered on whether or not you could get one in time. That made for edge of your seat excitement in it's own way.
Hopefully new and upcoming features will replace that. |

this was really the first interview made by someone who knows what ps was about! matt did a good job on all interviews so far, but it always feels so cheesy when the interviewer obviously has not the slightest idea what planetside means.
and every single interview so far had this cheesy taste ;-) matt hit the spot with describing the "planetside moments". that´s exactly what i would have answered! mass deployment of organized troops into a raging battle! best scenes in war movies, best scenes in planetside! so thrilling, sitting in a passengerseat of a galaxy, looking around and seeing a big fleet protecting you, waiting for that one second to hotdrop and dive into hell, projectiles flying in from all directions! can´t wait for the game! i am a little sorry about the ANT. i liked the thrill of anting in the well populated times during a siege with galaxy pickups or escort caravans. and the design of the ant was just beautiful ;-) the ladybug tank ;-) please don´t scrap your plans for the ant coming back someday. and if they become empire specific, give the original ant fesign to nc ;-) thanks again, matt for keeping us happy even during the holidays! |

Sat reading the article whilst nibbling on some turkey sandwiches. Great interview more so in the fact it wasn't just another cutter cutter one (though they have their place too)
You can feel the interviewers genuine interest and anticipation for the game in the way he asks the questions all whilst catering for both VET and newbie interests. Love it. Higby commenting on this thread on boxing day whilst he's away for the holiday re-iterates the massive enthusiasm he has for this game and the connection to the VETs. You could not ask for more. I have full confidence that with higby and the likes of t-ray at the helm of this game development the game will be a massive success. Will it make everyone happy? of course not we have played the current game for the better part of a decade so there is a huge emotional attachment. yeah, i´m so looking forward to play the game! and to play it together with those godlike devs more than puts the sugar on top!
so great, matt plays NC and loves the same ps moments as i do! @ hamma: have you ever asked to get an official interview for psu? sure, we would ask too much of secret stuff, if we would get the opportunity, but you could do an interview like this one, not asking too specific things, but stuff that really matters to the veterans! |

Indeed, if you check most of the phone pics you will see PSU open on most of the them. Higby and t-ray also perfect storm is often twittering about psu.
The agn night with higby was great, not sure we need more as a community, the press interviews all raise the games profile to newbies |

No more AMS's and no more ANTs = no more logistics and supply. At least not of the kind we know. And that rips the guts out of what made PS1 unique. In order to *win*, you had to have your act together. You had to have people who would volunteer to keep the supply train running and you had to have teams that would coalesce around them and help out, or it didn't happen.
They better introduce some new mechanisms to (a) allow attackers to besiege and starve a base, and (b) allow defenders to decisively force an attacker out of the contested area. Otherwise it'll just be a gigantic slugfest that only ends when one side gets bored -- not beaten. No logistics and no supply means no way to win. This isn't good, folks. |
