Microsoft to make Anti-Virus Software - Page 2

The first computer I could consider "mine" was a 486dx.. and yet, I've never ever gotten a virus..

Am I some type of demi-anti-virus-god or is my philosophy that viruses only hit people who are careless with their computers or are targetted correct?

Its weird. I use my computer for gaming, word processing, browsing, chatting, and emailing... yet i cant even remember windows crashing on me. Ever.

Right now i use win xp Pro. Before that i used win 98. Before that: 95. Before that: 3.1. Before that: Dos.

Maybe you people are downloading too much pr0n on your PC.

I use norton too.

When i think of it i think of holding up a geek named norton as huge bullies plow into him and he blockes them so they cant get to me. kinda wierd...

i don't care how much you guys hate microsoft, i think they're alright for a few reasons

1. they make good games (mechassault, freelancer, lots of others)
2. the richest man alive got his money from microsoft and he didn't have to go through college or even finish high school
3. windows is the easiest OS to use by far (i've never tried linux or any recent mac thingy)
4. if you find some sites about longhorn, it sounds very very badass, but it's not here till 2005, from what i've heard. but it's going to focus a lot more on gaming as an OS. there will be all kinds of special features, like now how they have a my music and my picutres folder, etc. they will have a my games folder, and there will be a standard game controller, probly similar to the xbox controller (i hope) that they are saying all game companies will adopt so that pc games that are better with joysticks and stuff will all have control schemes laid out to go with this controller, instead of all messy like they are now with 1000 different ones. and all kinds of cool shit, look up some windows longhorn info sight, and if any of you have tried the early version, i'd like to hear what it's like

Actually johnny, windows sucks. Its very unstable and written quite poorly. Its just that software developers only make things for windows.

I only started using AV software 2 months ago when I built this new comp. I've had comptuers for 6 years with no AV software, and never have I gotten a virus.
