I thought you could get any armor into a droppod??? Kind of sucks that they changed it. Maxes are going to be dependent on galaxies and Sunderers for transport then, unless they want to sprint all the time.

The more offensive vehicles will probably be restricted to weaker armor. If you were fighting a tank, only to find that just as you are about to destroy the tank, the pilot hops out with Reinforced Armor and a big mini-gun to blow you away with, you wouldn't be too impressed. IMHO, things like tanks, Reavers, and other strong fighting vehicles should be limited to the lowest kind of armor, to completely avoid the "pilot hopping out and kicking your ass" situation.

But if the vehicle isn't much of a combat rig, it won't really matter, because you probably didn't spend much ordinance taking the vehicle down anyway. That, and Agile armor is by nature easier to defeat due to its lower armor and limited Rifle-category weapon loadout.

Warborn are win.
Having a MAX driving a tank would be like two tanks in one bundle, besides...tanks are mostly made up of metal, which means more armor, which means less room for big things. It would make sense that only a smaller armor could drive one. You also have to think of mobility though, reinforced armor wouldn't be able to turn a buggy as quickly. Maybe it'll make the meneuverability decrease if you drive something in reinforced. |
