In the First Matrix, there was no BlackHawk chopper. That one they flew when they rescued Morphius? That was a black(painted) heui. With a door Mounted Chaingun. I don't remimber any other Choppers in the first Matrix movie. The only Added movie effect was that the Chaingun was mounted in the front of the door. Most Door guns on huies were mounted in the back section of the crew area but still inside the door area. The gunner would then kind of hang there strapped into a seat. The reason for the mounts being so far back was due to the need for quick mounting and departing of the rotary aircraft. If the gunner has to keep getting in and out it takes more time. The chopper then has to sit on the ground longer and is under fire for a longer period of time(bad juju).

Recent U.S. military helicopters, for the most part, are nicknamed after Native American tribes:
UH-1 "Iriquois" (but better known as "Hueys") UH-60 "Blackhawk" AH-64 "Apache" RAH-66 "Comanche" CH-47 "Chinook" AH-56 "Cheyenne" OH-6 "Cayuse" "H" is the standard designation for helicopter. This is modified with: "U" for utility; "A" for attack; "R" for reconnaisance; "C" for cargo; "O" for observation; "S" for shipborne; "M" for special operations and "H" for rescue. The main exceptions to this naming convention you would see are the AH-1 "Cobra" and HH/CH/MH-53 "Jolly Green Giant/Sea Stallion/Pave Low". |

Commanche isnt due till 2006 hamma
That is a recon heli probly most close to a sketeer but more of a punch. Most people think its going to replace the Apache or the Longbow (same chopper diffrent sensor suite) but its not, this thing will hunt out the tanks and then the Apaches will blow them apart. Personaly I think the US is still focused on huge battles in Europe more than anything. We need more localized forces that can strike quick and hard with more fear than anything. P.S. the UH- 60 Blackhawk is normaly armed in two fashions, either 2 19 rocket FFAR (Folding Fin Airial Rockets) mounted on stubs under the cargo compartment with optional long range 1000 lbs fuel bladders or a jelly mounted 7.62mm (.30 cal) M-60 Light Machinegun. For added firepower you can have a 7.62 6 barrel minigun mounted in the gunner station just like the M-60 Last edited by Peacemaker; 2003-07-08 at 06:38 PM. |

The Commanche is designed to be a fast-strike scout/attack chopper capable of carrying large amounts of mounted ordnace thnks to its internally held racks. It thus can quickly switch from dumbfire Hydra air-to-ground rockets to heavy Hellfire missles. It also has a rotary 3-barreled 20mm chaingun mounted in a turret in the nose. It is also capable of reaching speeds in escess of 200 kph. Strong titamium/ceramic alloy armor protects the pilot and the chopper from ground fire, as well as hazmat sealing to keep radiation and other hazardous elements out of the craft.
