Overlooked weapon...BEST IN THE GAME IMO!

In my opinion, the biggest problem with the thumper (not sure if anyone's mentioned this yet...) is the rediculous amounts of grief that can be accumilated by using this otherwise awsome weapon. This is why I carry the medium shotgun or even a suppressor with me for close-in work. Oft-times I've had to switch to avoid catching friendlies or even teammates in grenade fire, but still be able to shoot. I made a macro that shouts "Fire in the Hole!!!" I use just before launching, too.

For the arguments regarding which is better between plasma or frag grenades...depends on your situation. I'm fairly certain that frags have a smaller blast radius than plas, but they tend to do more armor damage, thus best used against maxes or vehicles. Plas's, on the other hand, damage health AND armor equally, both initially and over time, thus best used for non-max infantry of all types. Also, it seems, one plas = 1 dead cloaker, if you can land it close to them. Perhaps with no armor to take armor damage, it all goes to their health or something.

It's awesome for defense. I use it pretty much exclusively when defending bases. That and the Rocklet.

It's a situational weapon, but in the right situation it's the best in the game.

Overall there are many weapons that are better, and IMO the Jackhammer is the best weapon, closely followed by the Cycler.

Special Assault is a great category for the price. Two Decis will easily knock down a MAX; drop some plasma grenades in a group, and watch them scatter as they burn. Rocklet - not too bad against infantry, but not spectacular. SA is a worthy addition to the arsenal.

I use the rocklet as a medium range stand-off weapon. If I have friendlies in my area of fire with the rocklet, I'll surge up to'em and help out (JH of course). I've been hit by a rocklet before, and believe me, it doesn't tickle. I've also found that it's a very good weapon to hold off MAX suits with.

Yeah I've been using the Thumper lately. I've racked up a good amount of grief because I really can't aim when my screen is struggeling at 1 frame per second (lag and possibly 1ghz athlon thunderbird dosn't cut it anymore). I'll try and get better at shooting but I don't know if I can take any more grief...it's taking it's toll on my conscience (pfft )
