Edit: i should also compliment you on the INSANE amount of skill it took to run us all over with a magrider on our first run

If you're telling me that two pounders standing next to each other have to check their fire to make sure they aren't, by chance, firing directly into the ground, or, say, at a small bug on the other MAX's visor, instead of down the hallway which was occupied by no TR, perhaps it's time to take some physics classes. If two pounders at the top of a back door can't kill two VS infantry with decimators and you attribute it to the infantry being lucky n00bs, then, sorry, you're clueless. |

Yes, the lasher does take less skill, pounders can't surge, pounders can be dropped in oh, 1 second with a decimator. They're slow and not nearly as effective when moving and not locked down. As for my 'noob' comment, that weapon is noobish, your not a noob but that doesn't make that weapon any less skilless or noobish. It still hits people when it misses meaning that aiming is a secondary requirement. Noobs aren't good at aiming so this is perfect for them. It doesn't have any damage fall off over range unlike every other weapon in the game, yet another noob friendly feature. It hits every target for the same damage irregardless if it's a tank, max, sunderer, ams, whatever. Noobs don't have to worry about having the right weapon for the task. The lasher is a workable weapon for every task. It's the only AOE spam weapon in the game without grief problems. So unlike the pounder a noob won't get weapons lock with this gun. It's an extremely noobie friendly gun, I'm surprised you don't see that. Last edited by Cyber; 2003-07-27 at 10:13 PM. |

Every single weapon in this game is newbie-friendly and that's largely why the game is doomed. There's very little learning curve. The difference lies with being able to use the weapons to their full extent.
I've never denied that the lasher is newbie-friendly. I think the MCG is slightly more newbie-friendly but less effective in skilled hands, but, again, that's another thread. Incompetent, I used the mag to drive there from the sanc. Past that initial mag run, I didn't use one. I know for a fact that after my initial pass past the back door, there were cyclers and MCG users standing there looking like targets firing at me instead of rushing the back door. But, anyway, this is a bit of a thread derail. Just don't call me a noob seemingly randomly and we're all good. :P |

JH should be basically bursting death between 0-25m(at this point it is effective up to 30 with a small penalty past that)
MCG should be chain death between 25-50m(at this moment it is about as powerful as JH in close range, and i know that for a fact because ive lost a reinforced exo vs reinforced exo with a JH from standstill 8m, and this was before they closed its COF) Lasher should have a large lash area but should BARELY be useable indoors for that reason. It should take more then 1 clip to kill a MAX, and it should be able to rip the fuck out of tanks. Range shouldnt be the issue with it, it should be its versatality. Firing a little less then a clip at any soft target other then point blank should kill them. Question:say you shoot a lasher at someone point blank, does the lash hit the person who shot it? I havent got to test this to see. I havent really played the game because frankly this was a whiners way to go by SOE. This is much different then the MAXs, which were statistically and obviously slaughtermachines. The JH(the cause of all this shit) was an effective instant kill indoors. Now the MCG can kill u outside or inside in about the same time period, and the lasher can destroy maxs and infantry about as fast. VS has too much of a weight on their side now, and i was already tired of gettin lagridered, sniped with lancers, and lashed, so of course make it better. Now, can we hope to see the neccessary changes to striker and pheonix, and fix the damn AA VC MAX? No, because no ones bitching about the obvious flaws. |
